Country house La Rocca di Mantignana

La Rocca is a character 12th century building and has a truly privileged position. It is situated near the village of Mantignana, immersed in the green of the Umbrian countryside, yet only a short distance from Perugia and Lake Trasimeno and within walking distance of basic shops and services.

The property was fully restored respecting the original structure and reflecting as much as possible the character of this ancient place. It was converted into a holiday complex some years ago and divided in 10 apartments: 8 are in the main building and 2 in the former hay barn. The units are spacious and comfortable and are furnished with period and rustic pieces . Some have their own private garden or terrace. Each apartment has a fully equipped cooking corner, a telephone, TV and garden furniture. Many original features remaining (niches, wood beamed ceilings, terracotta tiling, wooden window shutters, original doors).

Guests can relax in the lovely shaded corners in the large garden. There is a large swimming pool (15x7.5) with equipped solarium and a roofed car-park.
The swimming pool is usually open from June 1st until September 30th. Use of tennis court and laundry to be paid locally.
Mantignana is a village with an ancient centre, the medieval borgo on the hill top, that still preserves the walls of the medieval castle dating back to the 12th c. and a modern residential area offering all services (bank, post office, pharmacy, children's play ground, baker, butcher, bar,
newsagent..).
La Rocca di Mantignana is an ideal accommodation for those looking for a relaxing place in proximity to the key sights of Umbria. There is plenty to do and to see in the surroundings.

The village of Corciano is only 3 km away, it is surrounded by an almost intact ring wall and many medieval monuments and was recently awarded the distinction of being "one of Italy's most beautiful medieval villages."
Assisi is a forty minute drive away, and there are two 18-hole golf courses in the area: the Golf di Perugia at Santa Sabina is a 10 minute drive and the Golf di Antognolla is a 15 minute drive from la Rocca. Horse-riding: 2km. Shops and basic services within walking distance in Mantignana: 400m.
Lake Trasimeno:14km. Perugia: 16km. Rome: 198km, Florence 140km, Siena 99km,
Cortona 40km. Airports: Perugia Sant'Egidio 25km, Rome Fiumicino 215km,

a loft with a large twin bedded room (the 2 beds are joinable on request)
