CASTELLO
IZZALINI

Tradition
and hospitality, these are the concepts which
inspired Castello Izzalinis restoration.
An ancient dwelling, being part of a castle
with one of the oldest and better kept medieval
village in the Municipal district of Todi. It
is beautifully sited, plunged among the hills
of the western side of Todis country,
in a landscape still rich in suggestions and
full of natural, historical and artistic beauties.
In these walls, that crossed the history from
the Middle Age till now, the traveller searching
for calmness and quietness can find an ancient
hospitality, based on a solid family tradition
which follows lands rhythms.
Morghettis Family, Castello Izzalinis
owner, offers four refinedly restored and furnished
apartments, created to make your stay exclusive,
in harmony with the suggestive ancient structure.
The particular value of the architectural work
and its authenticity, have in fact guided the
setting and the furniture style, mainly selected
for their coherent characterization with the
stylistic mark of the traditional Umbrian country
house. After the recent flooring, square and
Castle alleys restore, the little renewed unit
enjoys nice external corners, of public use,
characterized by aesthetical harmony and functionality.

Historical news
Historian Giovanni Battista Alvi, in his Todis
Topographic Dictionary (1765) writes that
the name Izzalini maybe derives
from a Todis soldier who served the famous
tyrant Ezzelino da Romanos army (1194-1259)
for a long time. Another tradition mentioned
from the Alvi tells about some Ezzelinos
captains who, travelling to Rome, walked in
these lands and built a fortification named
Izzalini.
