AGRITURISMO MONTEROSELLO

Monterosello farmlands between woods, paths, ponds and fields covers an area of 320 acres. Is the ideal place for taking walks, trekking, fishing, mushroom and truffle searching, wild animal watching. All the crops grown on the farm are organic, fully in harmony with the local environment, primarily Herb's (rosemary and lavender), fruit trees, olives, grape vines, vegetables. About 150 acres of the farm have been fenced and become a natural animal reservation, populated by deer, squirrels, hares, porcupines, boars, herons, buzzards, and other wild species.
Within the reservation there is :

Accommodation is provided either in Casa Ciarafieri (the main house), the Casa Monterosello (1km) or in one of the two wooden chalets. Rooms in the houses all have private bathroom/w.c. The house is traditionally furnished and meals are provided in a large dining room. In winter there is a welcoming log fire.

There are also three apartments in Casa Monterosello, with cooking facilities and private bathrooms.
The two wooden chalets have all facilities, one nestling in the shade of the pines near Casa Ciarafieri, and the other in a quiet location overlooking the lake (600m away)

At Monterosello all guests have at their disposal:

A natural gym with wooden equipment on a nature course of about 3.000 meters.
Below the Ciarafieri house on the lawn, a small children's playground.

THE FARM PRODUCTS

Seasonal fresh produce : organic vegetables, wild and cultivated fruits, mushrooms and truffles. All year round available : honey, extravergine olive oil, jams, sauces, canned fruits, wine, medicinal Herb's, canned vegetables, wild fruits, mushrooms

OUR TYPICAL CUISINE

The traditional Umbrian cuisine in all it's genuity and quality, with homemade pasta's and cakes, with organic vegetables grown on our farm and meats from untamed animals.

MEETING AND RECREATION ROOM

For those wishing to organise conferences, meetings or seminars, Casa Ciarafieri has seating for 80, and audiovisual equipment. It can also be used for social functions and dances. It has an adjacent dining room and lounge with fireplace, television and sofas.
The recreational activities, the courses that are held, including making jam and preserves, searching for truffles, astronomy, Umbrian cookery, painting on wood floral art/arrangements, restoration of old vehicles, creations from old jewellery , stencil work, aromatherapy, invigorating walks or just relaxing in the sun, will all provide you with an opportunity to shed the stress of everyday life. It is also possible to arrange the courses for you in English.

THE POND

The primary ponds on the farm is equipped with wooden docks, 2 row boats, 2 canoe's and raft, picnic tables, BBQ, and deck chairs to tan yourselves under the sun, relax by the pond and fishing.

ECOLOGY

At Monterosello we firmly believe that conservation and ecological issues are important, and this is reflected in the way we operate. The houses and properties are heated using sustainable resources (wood chips )produced on the property. You will see examples of renewable energy resources being used, minimising the emission of greenhouse gases.

Monterosello is an ideal location for walking and hiking, and is within easy reach of the walking trails of the Apennine mountains. Also attractive and full of interest are the Umbrian Regional Parks, which are between one and two hours away

For lovers of horses there is an excellent riding stable 10 minutes away by car.
