Enjoy a relaxing holiday with Daniela and Mario on their farm in Lombardy where you'll be made to feel at home straight away. Feel free to laze in the sun, walk in the hills or venture further a field to visit the picturesque towns and villages of the Val Camonica with their rich historical and architectural heritage. Mario's goats provide the milk to make the traditional cheeses and Daniela uses ingredients produced on the farm to make her delicious local dishes.

WHERE FIND US

The view from the balconies at La Sognata is spectacular. Perched high on the rocky hillside, the farm looks across the valley stretching from the Lake Iseo in the south to the Alpine peaks of the Adamello Natural Park. Whatever the season there is always something memorable to do. In the winter La Sognata is an ideal base for skiing holidays and in autumn the forests bear a rich harvest of wild mushrooms, nuts and chestnuts. In the warmer weather you can take a trip to Terme di Boario, a renowned spa town, or to nearby Borno, or to see the ancient stone carvings left by the Camuni people who lived in this valley during prehistoric times. Monte Isola, a beautiful island in the middle of Lake Iseo is easily accessible by boat. Bergamo, Brescia and Lake Garda are all within easy reach.

THE COTTAGES

Daniela and Mario have tastefully restored four self-catering cottages where guests can stay and enjoy their holiday in privacy and comfort. Each cottage has a kitchenette, dining and longue area downstairs and on the loft level is a large double bedroom and modern bathroom. Extra beds are available to accommodate families.

DINING AT THE FARMHOUSE

The farmhouse has been restored retaining the originale character of the buildings and the back wall of the farmhouse is actually carved from the sheer rock face of Mt. Colma Balestrini. Mealtimes offer the chance to chat with the other guests as you partake of a plentiful home-cooked dinner and a bottle of wine.

Around the walls is displayed a fascinating display of antique tools and curios and the sunroom makes an ideal spot to hide away with a book.
