You can find us in the Upper Cecina Valley.
The main cultural centre of the area is Volterra,
an important historical Etruscan city, even
rich in Roman, Medioeval and Renaissance remains.
The stony
farmstead where we live is been recently restored
respecting Tuscan architecture. The Podere
l'Apparita is situated in front of S.Dalmazio,
an ancient town 700m far. Here, the writer
Carlo Cassola set his romance “Il taglio del
bosco”.
Our farmstead is located in the district of
Pomarance (province of Pisa), in the geographical
zone of High Maremma Toscana, near the “Colline
Metallifere”, rich in wonderful landscapes,
beginning from woods (Berignone Wood - Tatti
and Monterufoli Wood) to gullies, crags and
geysers.
Our farmstead lays on a hill 350m high and
it’s steeped in the quiet country nature.
The farmstead
is surrounded by 60 hectars of land, and it
produces organic wheat and olives.
We serve breakfast (B&B) and dinner (for
half treatment) in the veranda with a good
view on the 12th century Rocca Sillana, easily
reached on foot. We serve meals of fine Tuscan
cuisine and fresh organic garden produce (vegetarian
food on request), we use only our organic
extra-virgin olive oil in meals and tables.
You take about one hour to get the most important
Tuscan cities as like as Siena (50 km far),
Florence ( 75 km), Pise ( 80 km), San Gimignano
(45 km), or reach the seaside of Tyrrhenian
Coast (40 km).
The Rooms
The family run farm offers a warm welcome
to 4 charming well-appointed rooms (two double
rooms and two triple rooms), each with bathroom,
heating, a large terrace and an indipendent
entrance. Rooms include TV Sat, fridge, phon
and thermo-switch for the heating at guests’
disposal.
The Swimming-pool
In the garden, for our guests, we have a swimming
pool 12m x 6m, next to a smaller one 4 m x
3 m for kids. The water in the swimming pool
is treated with a natural system based on
salt, without chlorine.
